Raspberry and White Chocolate Friands

Raspberry and White Chocolate Friands

Like many delicious sweet treats, these little teacakes originate from France - where they are known as Financiers. More recently, they have also become popular in Australia and New Zealand - who have adopted them and made them their own - they call them Friands.

While financiers are typically oblong-shaped, friands usually have a lovely oval shape to them - but these look just as cute baked in a regular muffin tin.

Whether you like to call them Financiers or Friands; these little cakes are so light and totally moreish - after all, what’s in a name?

Raspberry and white chocolate is a classic combination and one that I love so much - particularly at this time of the year. However, this recipe is so versatile and can be adapted easily.
